A New York City mayoral race with two independent candidates would be a “disservice” to New Yorkers, former Gov. David Paterson stated.
The leading New York City mayoral candidate faces backlash after sharing a video critics say mocks the Jewish holiday.
“His candidacy and naive, even cartoonish, positions on the Mideast have rightly sparked fear among Jewish New Yorkers,” the paper stated.
Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded to the anti-Israel state rep last week after first-round ballots showed the latter leading by 7 points.
In a new report, the nonprofit said it is concerned about increased “hateful rhetoric” ahead of the November mayoral election in New York City.
“This crazed antisemitic hatred from Democrats emboldens radicals to target Jewish Americans,” the deputy White House press secretary said.
The mayor told a reporter that the Jewish community ought to worry about the state rep’s victory.
“If the general election becomes a one-on-one matchup, voters who disliked Cuomo but also aren’t fully comfortable with Mamdani could be up for grabs,” Henry Olsen told JNS.
The U.S. president also proclaimed that Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer is “groveling over him.”
Eric Fingerhut, CEO of the Jewish Federation, told JNS he hopes that Jews “will organize themselves to make sure that there’s a serious opposition in the general election.”
Duvi Honig, of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, told JNS that he has “profound concerns regarding the intellectual rigor and judgment of the younger generation.”
