The Al-Qaeda media arm Al-Sahab released a statement on Saturday regarding the June “Peace to Prosperity” conference in Bahrain, describing it as “treasonous,” and calling on Muslims to be prepared to wage jihad, and target American and “Zionist” interests.

In the statement, Al-Qaeda urged all Muslims to support the Palestinian cause by waging jihad physically and by contributing funds, joining jihadi fronts and “making the targeting of U.S. and Zionist interests a primary objective until the nose of the Zio-crusaders mixes with the dirt.”

Addressing Muslim scholars, the statement called on them to teach Muslims that those who empower unbelievers over Muslims become unbelievers themselves, that Islam would prevail only through jihad—not democracy—and that “waging jihad against the Zionist Jews and the American crusader is an individual duty.”

The statement further urged Muslim scholars to explain to Muslims that “we are one ummah with a unified jihadi [mission] and that supporting the jihad and the truthful mujahideen has become an individual duty incumbent upon all Muslims until we reach the limit to completely defeat the international Zio-crusade, its allies and its agents, and that supporting jihad in Kashmir, the Philippines, Afghanistan, Chechnya, central Asia, Iraq, Syria, the Arabian Peninsula, Somalia, the Islamic Maghreb and Turkestan is the individual duty of every Muslim until we reach the limit to repel the aggressors out of Muslims countries.”

After praising the Muslim scholars’ position on the Bahrain workshop, Al-Qaeda’s statement called on them to collaborate with jihadi scholars in order to “improve the serious options for supporting the people of Palestine and other Muslim countries, in order to thwart the conspiracy of the ‘deal of the century’ [the U.S. administration’s Mideast peace plan] by all means.”

The statement concludes with a vow to the people of Palestine that the “raids so that Jerusalem will not be Judaized” will not stop.
