The student government at the University of Georgia has adopted the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism.

The resolution was approved unanimously on Tuesday, one day before International Holocaust Remembrance Day on Jan. 27.

The IHRA definition says: “Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities.”

The resolution also called on the university as a whole to adopt the definition.
