The Hebrew University of Jerusalem School of Engineering and Computer Science, in collaboration with Yissum, the university’s technology transfer company, announced Wednesday a new research collaboration with Meta AI.

Meta AI is an artificial intelligence laboratory that belongs to Meta Platforms Inc., formerly known as Facebook Inc. Meta AI research improves cutting-edge artificial intelligence through basic and practical research in collaboration with the community.

“Meta’s choice to collaborate with the Hebrew University is proof of our institution’s scientific excellence and the commercial success that Yissum has achieved for its leading professors,” said Itzik Goldwaser, CEO of Yissum.

“The university’s innovative researchers play a critical role in the marketplace, and we are proud to facilitate this collaboration with Meta to impact the scientific community,” he added.

This collaboration arises from the Hebrew University’s efforts to build linkages between academia and the technology industry. Doctoral students will have the opportunity to combine theory with real-world experience, get a better understanding of growing fields and develop innovative technologies.
