Israeli forces operating in the Judea city of Hebron thwarted an attempt by a Palestinian terrorist to run soldiers over, the military stated on Saturday night.

“A short while ago, two terrorists accelerated their vehicle toward forces of the Paratroopers Brigade, who were on an operational mission at a police checkpoint in the Yehuda Regional Brigade,” the Israel Defense Forces said.

“The soldiers fired at the terrorists and eliminated them,” it added.

Arab media reports identified the terrorists as Ziad Na’im Abdul-Jabbar Abu Daoud, 55, and Ahmad Khalil Rajabi, 20. According to Israel’s Ynet outlet, the city of Hebron declared a strike in protest at their deaths.

Israeli security forces on Friday concluded a two-week counter-terror operation in northern Samaria, during which they killed six terrorists and apprehended dozens of wanted suspects, the military said.

Troops seized hundreds of thousands of shekels used to fund terrorist activity, along with dozens of weapons, including pistols, M16 rifles, Carlo-type improvised guns, ammunition and knives. More than 30 targeted strikes were carried out, according to an IDF statement.

“Operation Five Stones” aimed to maintain the IDF’s freedom of action in northern Samaria, and prevent terrorists from entrenching themselves.

On Tuesday, two IDF soldiers were lightly wounded in a Palestinian terror attack outside the community of Ateret in Samaria’s Binyamin region. In a separate attack overnight Monday, a soldier sustained injuries in a vehicular assault at the Judea Junction near Hebron.

Palestinian terrorists targeted Israeli Jews in Judea and Samaria at least 6,343 times in 2024, according to figures published by Rescuers Without Borders (Hatzalah Judea and Samaria).

The group’s data did not include the hundreds of attacks targeting Israeli security personnel during ongoing counter-terror raids in Palestinian Authority–controlled cities and towns.

Twenty-seven Israelis were murdered in Judea and Samaria in 2024, and more than 300 others were wounded, the group said in its annual report.
