The IDF had reportedly known about the top-secret, camouflaged facility in eastern Lebanon for some time.
Mumin al-Jabari, a member of the terror group’s Gaza City Brigade sniper unit, operated out of a former school, from which he coordinated attacks on Israeli forces, according to the IDF.
The civilian suspect in the case, Sa’ar Ofir, was previously accused of murdering a Nukhba terrorist on Oct. 7.
Six people were killed and 12 others injured in the attacks, according to Syrian state media.
“We destroyed major parts of Iran’s air defense system and missile-manufacturing capabilities, and we demolished a significant component of their nuclear program,” the Israeli prime minister said.
The ceasefire is set to go into effect at 4 a.m. local time on Wednesday.
His death brings to 806 the number of Israeli soldiers killed on all fronts since the start of the war.
In a separate incident, a reservist non-commissioned officer was severely wounded during combat in the central Gaza Strip.
A Lebanese official said Beirut had been informed by the U.S. that an agreement could be announced “within hours.”
Katz also said he would meet with the families of female IDF field observers, “to allow them to voice their position on the issue.”
Al-Mughayyir has emerged as a hub for Palestinian terrorism in recent months.
