In a sign of the warming ties—and following a change in Poland’s controversial Holocaust law in June—the Tel Aviv municipality marked 100 years of Polish independence this month by lighting up the building in the colors of the Polish flag.

For now, the threat from Gaza in the south is less of a force to be reckoned with, as political and military eyes are focused on burgeoning threat from Iran and Hezbollah up north.

As Hamas continued to lob rockets on Israeli population centers in southern Israel on Tuesday morning, IDF spokesperson Brig.-Gen. Ronen Manelis said the IDF will begin a call-up of reserve soldiers.
“We are aware of reports of ongoing rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza against targets in Israel,” a State Department official told JNS on Monday. “We condemn these attacks and call for their immediate halt. We stand with Israel as it defends itself against these attacks.”
