A drone intercepted over central Israel on Sunday morning entered Israeli airspace from the east, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

According to the Israeli military, an impact was confirmed near Kfar Hanagid. A fire apparently sparked by an interceptor fragment was under control, according to the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command.

The attack triggered sirens in the Lachish and Shfela regions.

There were no reports of injuries or major damage.

Several hours earlier on Thursday, sirens were triggered in Tal Katzir in the southern Golan Heights due to a suspected drone infiltration.

While there was no initial claim of responsibility, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella organization composed of several Iranian-backed Shi’ite militias, has been launching daily drone attacks at Israel since the Hamas-led massacre in southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023.
