The Israel Defense Forces on Thursday night confirmed that several projectiles were launched from the Khan Yunis area in the southern Gaza Strip toward an aid distribution site in Rafah.

According to the military, the projectiles landed in the area of a Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) site, adjacent to the Morag Corridor. No injuries or damage were reported.

Despite the attack, the site opened on Thursday as planned, and thousands of weekly food packages were distributed to Gazans, without Hamas involvement, the IDF said.

Israel and the United States installed the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation to handle food aid deliveries so that they directly reach Palestinian civilians. Since launching its operations on May 26, it has distributed some 175 million meals.

“These launches are yet another example of the ongoing attempts by the terrorist organizations to systematically and brutally sabotage the aid distribution program operated by the American company and international organizations,” said the IDF on Thursday.

“The terrorist organizations are actively working to disrupt the distribution of humanitarian aid to Gazan civilians,” it added.

The Board of Deputies said that the action “will better enable the authorities to protect our community and others from the threats this organization presents.”
