The Israel Defense Forces on Tuesday announced the completion of the multi-front “Magen Oz” (Shield of Strength) military exercise.

“As part of the exercise, troops operated in a sequence of intensive scenarios that tested performance, the full range of IDF defensive and offensive directives, the conduct of situational assessments across all levels, activation of readiness protocols and immediate response to emerging threats,” according to the army statement.

All IDF General Staff directorates cooperated for the drill, including the Operations Directorate, Manpower Directorate, Technological and Logistics Directorate, Intelligence Directorate, Israeli Air Force, Israeli Navy, Ground Forces, Northern Command, Central Command, Southern Command and Home Front Command.

The two-day exercise started on Monday and took place in the north of the country, coming the day after the IDF eliminated top Hezbollah terrorist commander Haytham Ali Tabatabai in Beirut. The military emphasized that the drill had been scheduled in advance by the Operations Directorate.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir oversaw the exercise, assessing the troops’ preparedness for a rapidly developing scenario. He later met with reserve forces, stressing the importance of constant training and maintaining full readiness at all times.

The IDF is restoring readiness and strengthening its operational foundations to protect Israeli civilians better and prepare more effectively for future conflicts, said Zamir.

“We are drawing the lessons from the inquiries of Oct. 7 and implementing them in the field in order to rebuild the foundations on which the IDF will stand—stronger and more prepared—for the next campaign,” he added.
