Netanyahu demands global action on antisemitism

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on the West Tuesday to bolster security for Jews worldwide following the shooting at a Chabad Chanukah event in Sydney, Australia, that killed 15 people and wounded dozens more.

“I demand that Western governments do what is necessary to combat antisemitism and provide the necessary security and safety for Jewish communities around the world,” Netanyahu said in a social media post. “And they should heed our warnings. I demand that they act—now.”

A father and son opened fire at a Bondi Beach park during celebrations of the Jewish festival. The surviving son was charged on Wednesday with murder, terrorism and causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. Australian authorities say the two men appeared to be motivated by Islamic State ideology.

“If even a few dozen, or a hundred, more Jews were willing to organize and step up into party structures like I did, imagine what could be possible,” Louis Fine, secretary of the Minnesota Republican Party’s Platform Committee, told JNS.
“The public wants you to be who you are,” the Pennsylvania governor said. “Let them know what motivates you to serve and why you do this work.”
Former Democratic National Committee chair Donna Brazile called on the candidate to “step aside” and said that he “needs time to heal, focus on his family and well-being.”
“What they’re trying to do is more of a sham,” the source told JNS, accusing Hamas of wanting to shed the burden of governing the Strip while retaining “power and money.”
“Despite all their attempts to hijack the party, I believe these are not the values and ideas that Americans and Democrats are focused on,” Rep. Josh Gottheimer told JNS.
“The Iranian regime is only as strong a negotiator as we allow them to be,” Jason Brodsky, of United Against Nuclear Iran, told JNS.
