Israeli security forces arrested eight Arab rioters on Monday evening near the Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Hundreds of Arab rioters assembled and clashed with security forces for the third night in a row, which also is the third night of the Muslim holiday of Ramadan.

Police said that eight Palestinians were arrested as rioters threw rocks, bottles and fireworks at police officers, reported the AP.

However, they added, “most of the people at the scene were not actively participating in these disturbances.”

Israeli security forces are on high alert after three deadly Palestinian terror attacks that killed 11 Israelis in recent weeks.
