Israeli jets struck Hezbollah positions near the town of Al-Qusayr in Syria’s Homs district near the border with Lebanon on Monday night, Sky News Arabia reported on Tuesday.

There was no Israeli comment on the report.

According to the report, several Hezbollah combatants were killed in the alleged strike, including the unit’s commander. Sources told Sky News the strikes destroyed a coordination center for operations and caused large fires in the area.

Several attacks across Syria in recent weeks have been attributed to Israel.

Last Thursday, airstrikes ascribed to Israel destroyed Hezbollah munitions depots in the Dabaa air base, more commonly known as the al-Qusayr air base. The area is a known stronghold for Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed militias.

Syrian state television blamed Israel for the strike.
