If the captives, both living and dead, are not returned, Israel will expand the agricultural areas of the kibbutzim Be’eri and Nir Oz into the Gaza perimeter, said the Israeli finance minister.
“Semantics are important because through incorrect terminology, the lie wins,” said MK Simcha Rothman, who sponsored the bill.
The national security minister spoke after Justice Minister Yariv Levin laid out a lengthy procedure to be followed for the dismissal.
“This is a golden opportunity to weaken the court,” MK Simcha Rothman says.
“The tool of administrative arrest against citizens must be used in the most limited way,” stated the lawmaker.
Knesset member Simcha Rothman has the support of lawmakers from the coalition and the opposition.
Some Israelis have adopted “the playbook of the anti-Israel and pro-Hamas movement,” the lawmaker said after activists shut down his speech at UC Berkeley.
The ambassadors of the European Union, Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and Australia will also be called upon to explain the targeting of residents of Judea and Samaria.
“The Palestinian Authority should be held accountable for what happened on Oct. 7,” Religious Zionist Party lawmaker Simcha Rothman told JNS.
The motion opposes the establishment of a Palestinian state “on any piece of land west of the Jordan River.”
The Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee on Tuesday discussed a legislative amendment that would halt the funding.
