“We are on the cusp of ending the Israeli-Arab conflict and changing the region for the next 100 years,” says former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman at the launch of his new documentary series on the historic agreements.
They met with government officials and visited holy sites in Jerusalem before seeing other cultural, religious and historic places throughout Israel during their whirlwind tour.
AIPAC applauded the action, tweeting: “Engaging with Israel achieves peace. Boycotting Israel achieves nothing.”
In Manama, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said: “Our opportunities are shared, our threats are shared, and they are not far from here.”
Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and his Bahraini counterpart, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, are slated to inaugurate the Israeli embassy in Manama and sign a number of bilateral agreements.
Israeli Minister of Diaspora Affairs Nachman Shai noted that the event highlights the fact that “Arabs and Jews must live together. There is no other alternative.”
An agreement penned a year ago has encountered growing opposition from environmentalist groups and Israel’s Ministry of Environmental Protection.
Based on U.N. Security Council Resolution 1325, the statement stressed the value of women’s influence on human-rights matters, peace, sustainable development and security.

“The more we strengthen the bonds between these countries, the more we will remove a tool from propagandists and agitators who have used [the Israeli-Palestinian] conflict for decades to divert from their shortcomings at home and maintain their grip on power,” said Jared Kushner, chairman and founder of newly established Abraham Accords Peace Institute.
The architects of the agreement say they are optimistic that more Arab nations will join.
“I strongly believe that as others in the region see the fruits of our partnerships and feel this transformation, they will join our circle of peace,” says Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Gilad Erdan.
