The gang’s activities do not seem to have been driven by ideology, even as the attacks directly targeted the Jewish community, according to police.
“Many college and university presidents took little or no credible action,” stated Craig Trainor, an acting assistant U.S. secretary of education.
“At its base, this is a case in point of where antisemitism and the fight against antisemitism stand in this country,” said Dave Hopkins, senior managing associate at Benesch Law’s office in Cleveland.
“Antisemitism thrives in loopholes. Congress has the power and the obligation to close them,” Adela Cojab, of the National Jewish Advocacy Center, told the committee.
Ahmad Rashad Nadir, 27, was charged with using a communication system to threaten, menace or harass, and with possessing a prohibited drug, police said.
