“Not for 24 hours, but for years,” civil rights attorney Leo Terrell warned.
“There is not one iota of the union having done this because it was the right thing to do,” Jeffrey Lax, a CUNY law professor, told JNS.
“This will send a clear message that the harassment of Jewish students and faculty will not be tolerated at Columbia,” Brian Cohen, executive director of the Columbia Barnard Hillel, told JNS.
“Rutgers University must not tolerate faculty members spewing vile antisemitism or conspiracy theories about the Jewish community,” said Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.).
Trump signed an executive order intended to revolutionize the fight against Jew-hatred.
“All of our students deserve to be safe,” the U.S. attorney general said at CPAC in the Washington area.
Yoav Kisch, the Israeli education minister, stated that the Columbia University interim president agreed on the “importance of taking firm action against antisemitism on campus.”
According to the poll, 91% of respondents are concerned that social media amplifies the opinions of fringe movements, making them seem more widespread than they actually are.
A request has been made about 11 instances of anti-Jewish activities at the New York City campus.
“Students come here for those values, whether they view them as Jewish values or humanistic values,” said Alan Kadish, president of Touro University.
“Not all of us can protest. Not all of us can write a letter to the editor. Not everybody can go stand outside of a university president’s door,” said Mark Bogomolny, board chair of the foundation.
