Danish foreign national nabbed after attempting to kidnap a child in Tel Aviv

The man eventually dropped the 4-year-old after being chased by her screaming mother.

A 25-year-old foreign national from Denmark was arrested by Israeli police on Saturday after the attempted kidnapping of a 4-year-old girl in south Tel Aviv on Friday.

The girl was at a playground when the man allegedly approached her, picked her up and began running.

The man continued running, despite being chased by the girl’s screaming mother, who had been nearby when he abducted her.

He eventually dropped the child and escaped on foot, though police forces arrived at the scene and were able to take the man into custody less than a day after the incident.

The man will be brought for a hearing on Sunday and will be charged with attempted kidnapping, assault and battery.
