Gazans use kites to set fire to fields, forests in Israel

Israeli farmers near the border are being urged to be on the alert for suspicious flying objects and to alert firefighters, if necessary.

Palestinian terrorists who flew a kite loaded with flammable materials over the Gaza security fence succeeded in setting fire to a wheat field in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council on Monday.

No casualties were reported.

At least two additional kites were flown into Israeli territory on Saturday and Sunday, with one of them igniting the Kissufim Forest near Gaza.

The new attack strategy against Israel is part of the “March of Return” Friday demonstrations initiated by Hamas, which has seen tens of thousands of Gazans attack the security fence between Israel and Gaza in recent weeks.

“It’s a day of celebration, despite those who spread lies,” Danny Danon, the Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, told JNS.
Jamal Abu Aoun, a Hamas commander who worked at a Gaza hospital, planned attacks and aided the terrorist group rebuilding in breach of the ceasefire, according to the Israeli military.
