Terrorist wounds Israeli policeman in Jordan Valley

The Palestinian shooter was “neutralized.”

An Israeli Border Police officer was lightly wounded on Tuesday when a terrorist opened fire near the Argaman Junction in the Jordan Valley.

Security forces were conducting searches in the area when they came across a suspect, who then attacked them.

The terrorist was subsequently “neutralized, according to the Israel Defense Forces.

The assailant reportedly died during an exchange of fire.

On Monday evening, Israeli security forces arrested an Arab woman after she tried to stab a police officer in Jerusalem’s Old City.

The incident occurred near the Lions’ Gate entrance to the Temple Mount holy site.

Officers disarmed the woman without using gunfire, according to a police statement, which added that no injuries were reported.

Israel has experienced several deadly attacks in recent weeks, including the killing of an off-duty IDF soldier on Aug. 31 when a Palestinian drove his truck into a crowd at the Maccabim Crossing along Route 443, close to the central city of Modi’in. Six other persons were wounded in the ramming.

Also in August, 40-year-old Batsheva Nigri, a mother of three from Beit Hagai, was killed and a 39-year-old man was seriously wounded in a terrorist shooting near Hebron in Judea.

Two days earlier, a Palestinian terrorist shot and killed Shay Silas Nigrekar, 60, and his 28-year-old son Aviad Nir in Huwara, just outside Nablus (Shechem) in Samaria.
