An Israeli military court on Sunday handed down two life sentences to the Palestinian terrorist who carried out a deadly shooting in Samaria in 2015.

Ma’ad Hamed belonged to a Hamas cell that killed Malachi Rosenfeld, 25, and wounded three others at the Shvut Rachel junction near Shilo on June 29, 2015.

He was convicted in December 2022 of intentionally causing Rosenfeld’s death, a charge equivalent to murder in Israel’s military court system, of plotting terrorist attacks and membership in a terrorist organization.

In addition to the two life sentences handed down on Sunday, it was determined by the court that the defendant must pay 1.09 million shekels ($290,000) total in compensation to the family of the deceased and the victims of the attack.
