An Israeli Patriot missile defense system has been operating in Ukraine against Russian attacks for a month, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Saturday.

He added that two more batteries will arrive from Germany this fall, according to The Kyiv Independent.

“Let’s leave it at that. I can’t say anything more about the Patriot systems,” Zelenskyy said at the press briefing in the capital.

Israel said it had not supplied the mobile surface-to-air missile (SAM) battery to Ukraine but rather had returned it to the U.S. for refurbishing.

Speaking to reporters in the Presidential Office following a visit to the United States where he met with President Donald Trump and other world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly, Zelenskyy announced a pending major arms deal with Washington, including the purchase of American weapons and exporting Ukrainian-made drones.

A Ukrainian delegation in the U.S. this fall will work to finalize the roughly $90 billion deal for American weapons, with Zelenskyy also saying there is interest in deals for other weapons, particularly long-range missiles.
