Judea and Samaria

The announcement came just hours after Knesset lawmakers passed a non-binding resolution in favor of applying Israeli sovereignty to the area.
“Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley are an inseparable part of the Land of Israel—the historic, cultural and spiritual homeland of the Jewish people,” the preamble to the resolution states.
The declarative motion will not be legally binding.
The Israeli defense minister also stressed the importance of continued pressure on Iran and taking offensive action against regional threats.
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said the top general supports long-term Israeli control of parts of the Strip.
“It is emphasized that roofing the compound will not affect the prayer arrangements or the status quo at the Tomb of the Patriarchs,” the Israeli Defense Ministry’s COGAT unit told JNS.
A total of 16 suspects were detained in overnight raids across Judea and Samaria, according to the IDF.
“If arson is confirmed, justice will be pursued regardless of race or background,” police stressed.
Separately, the Knesset’s Subcommittee on Judea and Samaria discussed the practical implications of declaring sovereignty over the area.
Washington “will certainly insist that those who carry out acts of terror and violence in Taybeh—or anywhere—be found and be prosecuted,” said the U.S. ambassador to Israel.
Troops also seized large sums of terror-linked funds and dozens of weapons.
