McDonald’s in Israel is expected to introduce a vegan hamburger to its menu in then next six weeks.

“The Big Vegan,” developed by Nestle and made of wheat and soybeans, is already available in Europe.

Its price in Israel, where it will start being sold in several franchises in Tel Aviv, is currently unknown.

Whether the product will be offered in all of the more than 180 standard McDonald’s locations in Israel—more than 50 of them kosher eateries—will be decided later. Its kosher status would depend on the certification of the individual restaurant.

The only kosher McDonald’s outside of Israel is in Buenos Aires.
