An 18-year-old girl was hospitalized with serious wounds on Monday after being stabbed multiple times on a street in Afula in northern Israel. It was unclear whether the attack was criminal or terrorist in nature.

After being stabbed, the girl managed to stagger ahead a few dozen feet until she collapsed outside a cafe. According to various media reports, she told passersby who rushed to her aid that an Arab man had stabbed her.

First responders were scrambled to the scene, and the victim was evacuated to the city’s Ha’emek Medical Center with serious wounds to her upper body.
