Israel’s main Holocaust museum labeled the accusations “dangerous distortions” following controversies around a German affiliate and some scholars.
“The voices of victims and survivors demand that we honor their legacy by standing firm against Holocaust denial, distortion and hatred,” Dani Dayan stated.
“This institution of Yad Vashem, which is more necessary than ever, is now going to have a rightful place on the streets of New York,” Keith Powers, a New York City Council member, said at the street naming.

The American Society for Yad Vashem has accused the Holocaust memorial’s chairman Dani Dayan of attempting to “raid” an endowment built for the museum’s perpetual support.
