Nablus
Ala Raouf Shetiyya fled after carrying out a May 2024 car-ramming that killed two Israel soldiers.
The soldier was wounded in Nablus when terrorists opened fire during a raid; he was evacuated for treatment and his family notified, according to the military.
Two additional security incidents were reported in the Binyamin region of southern Samaria.
Undercover operators arrested a terrorist who had planned to carry out an attack.
The operatives were arrested in separate raids, described by the military as a “complex operation.”
The National Counter-Terrorism Unit, together with other security forces, eliminated a suspect who was reportedly on his way to carry out an attack.
The suspect was captured in Nablus after an apparently accidental blast led security forces to his location.
The request comes as the military is studying the possibility of restoring a permanent Jewish presence at the holy site on the outskirts of Nablus.
“The entry of Israeli civilians into Area A is dangerous and prohibited by law,” the military said.
Israeli forces also arrested suspects and seized weapons during the raid in the Kasbah of the Samarian city.
The terrorist from Nablus killed only himself in the failed August 2024 attack near a synagogue in the Israeli metropolis.
The terrorist was said to have been involved in past attacks, assisted in procuring weapons and was actively planning future acts of terrorism.
