Meeting with House Speaker Mike Johnson on Capitol Hill the day after he held talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, the Israeli prime minister affirms that relations between Washington and Jerusalem have never been closer.
Sorties averaged about 1,000 miles (one way) and, at least in one case, stretched to 1,400 miles.
The Israeli premier is scheduled to meet with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Leader John Thune, Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and other members of the chamber.
“Few leaders have achieved such tangible breakthroughs to peace in such a short time,” the Israeli premier wrote to the Nobel Committee.
“I’d like to believe that Iran would not test our fortitude, because it would be a mistake,” the Israeli prime minister said of any effort by Iran to try to harm the United States or Israel.
The United States is pressuring Qatar to “deliver the goods” regarding efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza.
Ending Iran’s nuclear ambitions was the first stage in realizing a new vision for a war-torn region. Stage two is ending the war in the Gaza Strip. Stage three is expanding the 2020 Abraham Accords.
“I am committed to the release and return of all our hostages, the elimination of Hamas’s capabilities, and ensuring that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel,” said the prime minister
The Israeli head of state expressed his “deepest condolences” as deaths and the missing continued to mount.
“We stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder, in the defense of freedom and liberty,” the Israeli president wrote.
“Rafael is the incredible company that developed the Iron Dome,” the ambassador noted.
U.S. Gen. Michael Kurilla also visited the Israeli Air Force’s underground operations HQ.
