A National Gallery of Art curator told JNS that it is “quite striking” that the only painting in the 1874 Impressionism show that related to religion was by a Jewish artist known for portraying Jewish scenes.
“We found the name of Jesus before Christianity was part of the Roman Empire,” Alegre Savariego, of the Israel Antiquities Authority, told JNS.
Court records say Rasheed Adedokun, 35, is a resident of Bladensburg, Md.
“Embassy staff and the building are unharmed,” said Tal Naim, the embassy spokesperson.
It wasn’t immediately clear as to why Trayon White was being investigated.
Brent Wood, 35, faces up to 60 years in jail for the attack at Kesher Israel in Georgetown.
Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-N.J.) led a letter signed by 31 representatives.
“I support the right to peacefully protest, but let’s be clear: antisemitism, hate and violence of any kind have no place in our nation,” the vice president said.
“Part of the crowd has started to become violent at First Street and Constitution Avenue, NW,” the U.S. Capitol Police stated shortly before the Israeli prime minister began speaking.
“He left an indelible mark on me, just as he did on everyone who had the good fortune to know him,” the prime minister said.
“Our lives will be upended,” Amal Mudallali wrote on social media.
“I am going to Washington tonight to represent the State of Israel with one clear goal: to warn dozens of leaders and foreign ministers that they must stand up now with full force and determination against Iran.”
