American Friends of the Hebrew University (AFHU) Northeast Region has appointed six new members to its Northeast Region board of directors.
“Our new board members are passionate and successful individuals, and importantly, are dedicated to furthering the mission of the Hebrew University,” says Dr. Jeffrey Kuvin, president of the Northeast Region. “These new board members will play a vital role by engaging and educating our region about the Hebrew University of Jerusalem’s importance to Israel and its important contributions worldwide.”
New AFHU Northeast Region Board Members:
Danielle Lindner is a bestselling author, inspirational speaker, educator, early-childhood expert and parenting coach. She is the founder of the London Day School and the author of The Parent’s Pocket Guide to Surviving the Preschool Years—One Challenge at a Time and 16 children’s books. Lindner also serves as the educator and entrepreneur in residence at High Point University in North Carolina, working with students and faculty to inspire the next generation of education and business leaders. Her expertise has been featured across major platforms, including Amazon Prime’s Danielle’s Preschoolbuds, CBS Morning Show, ABC News, Good Day Washington, Atlanta FOX 5, NY Metro Parent and LA Parent. Lindner earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a master’s degree in teaching and elementary education with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Steven Lindner, Ph.D., is an organizational psychologist and managing partner of The WorkPlace Group, a company specializing in recruiting, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), and human-resources services. He is recognized as one of the creators of the RPO industry, enabling organizations to identify and hire top talent more effectively. Lindner has written more than 85 HR business and research articles in leading media outlets and academic journals, and is a contributing author to the American National Standard “Cost-Per-Hire” metric. Additionally, he serves as president of the Board of Trustees at the Park Avenue Club in New Jersey. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, in addition to a doctorate in industrial/organizational psychology from Stevens Institute of Technology in New Jersey.
Luc Teboul is a partner and global head of application development engineering for transaction banking at Goldman Sachs. In the past, Teboul was a member of the advisory council for the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children. He earned a master’s degree in computer science and mathematics from École Nationale Supérieur D’informatique pour l’Industrie et l’Entreprise in Paris in 2002. He also earned a master’s degree in distributed computing from Université Jussieu in 2002.
In addition, three graduates of the AFHU’s Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) program, an immersive leadership training program that identifies and develops future leaders to become ambassadors for the Hebrew University, are joining the Northeast Regional Board.
New York resident Spencer Anson is an equity research analyst with Susquehanna International Group. His family’s connection to Hebrew University began in the 1950s, and his grandparents and parents have a long history of dedicated support. Anson is currently involved with the University of Berkeley Helen Diller Institute Mentorship Program. He has led Israel Bonds’ New Leadership program, volunteered for Meals on Wheels and served as a mentor volunteer at Roosevelt Middle School in Oakland, Calif. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree at the Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business and a bachelor of arts degree in cognitive science from the University of California, Berkeley.
Sammi Edelson is an investment banking vice president in the financial institutions group at TD Securities, where she works with asset and wealth management companies globally. She also works with senior leadership on firm-wide initiatives and cross-sector opportunities. Her commitment to community service includes previously serving in the Jewish National Fund Future’s division and on the JNF Arts and Entertainment task force. During the height of COVID-19, she helped source medical equipment and PPE for communities in need and led an effort to donate medical equipment to aid victims of the war in Ukraine. Edelson participated in the 2022 Maccabiah Games on the inaugural women’s hockey team representing the United States. In addition to her Master of Business Administration degree from Hebrew University (2021), she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in media studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (2015).
Marty Pollak is the CEO of The Pollak Group, where he advises executives on scaling businesses and works with institutional venture capital and private equity investors. Pollak has been extensively involved in Jewish community affairs and causes. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and history at the University of Maryland, where he was the recipient of an Avi Chai Fellowship. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Recanati School of Business at Tel Aviv University and the Fudan University in Shanghai.
