Operation Israel launches ‘Girl Power’ to equip women IDF soldiers with critical gear

A critical oversight has become apparent regarding specific equipment needs, such as properly fitting shoes, helmets, vests, uniforms and backpacks.

Operation Israel, an organization that has sourced, procured and shipped nearly $7.5 million worth of critical supplies to soldiers and first responders in Israel, announced today a new initiative focusing on supplying female soldiers in the Israel Defense Forces with the critical gear they desperately need.

Recently, a critical oversight has become apparent regarding the specific equipment needs of women IDF soldiers, who often lack properly fitting shoes, helmets, vests, uniforms and backpacks, which can compromise their safety and performance. Many have resorted to purchasing these items out of their own pockets in order to be properly protected, but most are using poorly fitted gear.

Understanding the unique requirements of these soldiers, Operation Israel’s initiative allows individuals to request specific equipment for themselves, deviating from the organization’s usual bulk order process for military units. Women can submit their personal equipment requests through the “Girl Power” link on the Operation Israel website.

“Female soldiers frequently lack essential gear that is more readily accessible to their male colleagues,” said Adi Vaxman, founder of Operation Israel. “They deserve our support, and we are committed to providing them with the equipment they need to serve effectively.”
