Lapid calls King Abdullah, PA leader Abbas ahead of Biden’s visit to Israel
The Israeli prime minister discussed the need to “strengthen and deepen” cooperation with Amman, and for Abbas to help ensure “quiet and calm” during the U.S. president’s visit this week.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken reaffirmed Washington’s “unwavering commitment to the U.S.-Israel partnership, Israel’s security and to countering shared threats.”
The situation “will lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East, which would threaten world peace. We must work together to stop that from happening,” said Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid.
