‘Antisemitism has no place in New Jersey,’ governor says after vandalism at Rutgers Jewish fraternity

Anti-Semitic incidents had reached an all-time high in New Jersey last year, including 112 instances of vandalism.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy condemned the reported vandalism at Rutgers University’s chapter of the Jewish fraternity Alpha Epsilon Pi during Rosh Hashanah.

“Antisemitism has no place in New Jersey,” Murphy tweeted on ">Tuesday. “I will always condemn and speak out against bigotry and intolerance.”

On Monday, three eggs were found broken on the sidewalk at the entrance to the fraternity house. Police are investigating the incident.

Anti-Semitic incidents reached an all-time high in New Jersey last year, including 112 instances of vandalism, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
