Suspects involved in murder of Holocaust survivor to go on trial in Paris

One of them was 27 at the time of the attack; the other was 21.

Two suspects accused of murdering a Holocaust survivor in Paris an alleged anti-Semitic attack two years ago will go on trial, the Paris prosecutor’s office told CNN on Monday.

Mireille Knoll, 85, was found burned and with 11 stab wounds after a fire broke out in her Paris apartment in 2018.

The unnamed males are charged with “the murder of a vulnerable person committed because of the true or supposed victim’s religion,” “aggravated theft” and “degradation by dangerous means to individuals,” said the prosecutor’s office.

One of the male suspects was 27 at the time of the attack, while the other was 21.

A third person has also been charged in the case for “destroying a document or object relating to a crime or offense in order to prevent the truth from being established.”

That suspect is under judicial supervision, according to the prosecutor’s office.
