Following the Oct. 7 terror attacks in Israel, slogans like “globalize the intifada” have grown more common.
The country’s former premier has expressed public support for Hamas terrorists and called the Jews “idiots.” Other Moroccan figures made similar comments.
“Jewish life existed in Europe before the Holocaust,” said Sacha Roytman, who leads the Combat Antisemitism Movement. “Jewish life should be celebrated here again.”
“We’re talking about light. We’re talking about good,” Russell Robinson, the Jewish National Fund-USA’s CEO, told JNS. “There’s no pro-anything out there in the street.”
The director of the state’s civil-rights division also mentioned “anti-Muslim acts of hate and bias” and “our Jewish and Muslim residents.”
The city body voted to call for a permanent ceasefire in Israel, amid comments from community members promoting conspiracy theories that Israel attacked itself.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) spoke for more than 40 minutes about Jew-hatred on the U.S. Senate floor.
In many cases, antisemitism is coming from “people that most liberal Jewish Americans felt previously were their ideological fellow travelers,” the Senate majority leader said.
