Jonathan D. Salant has been a Washington correspondent for more than 35 years and has worked for such outlets as Newhouse News Service, the Associated Press, Bloomberg News, NJ Advance Media and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. A former president of the National Press Club, he was inducted into the Society of Professional Journalists D.C. chapter’s Journalism Hall of Fame in 2023.

“It seems abstract if somebody is not in those universities or in those campuses, and you read about it in the news,” Sen. Bill Cassidy, the committee chair, told JNS.

“All of our students deserve to be safe,” the U.S. attorney general said at CPAC in the Washington area.
“We have to push forward until everybody’s out. Then we will be done,” Adi Alexander said at the annual gathering of conservatives.
“He was really a right and wrong kind of guy, a standup guy,” Chris Edmonds said of his late father, U.S. Army Master Sgt. Roddie Edmonds.
