Still, in the fight for civil rights, he emphasizes not to be overly alarmist, even on college campuses, where more opportunities are available to Jewish students than ever before.
Israel’s Council for Higher Education announced a plan to invest $27 million into a five-year “New Campus Vision” plan at 10 top universities.
The school must submit documentation to demonstrate that it is complying with the “same rights and privileges” clause by Nov. 1, and subsequently do so in 2020 by Feb. 1, June 1 and Nov. 1.
A warning is sounded that if Israel doesn’t create absorption solutions that address employment, education and housing for French Jews, as it does for immigrants from other countries, the Jews of France “won’t come to Israel, and that’s a shame.”
“We are at a dangerous moment in time. Anti-Semitism is on the rise around the world and here at home, and the memory of the Holocaust is fading for far too many Americans,” said Rep. Outrage over child abuse at day-care facility in Israel leads to nationwide protests
Thousands of Israeli parents took to the streets to demand child-care reform after a 25-year-old day-care owner was revealed to have been systematically abusing toddlers.
The letter, signed by more than 140 academics, warned that the museum could lose its credibility by releasing the statement it did.
“This is not only an opportunity to learn about the Rebbe’s teachings,” says Rabbi Yaakov Kaplan, who produced the course. “Rather, this is a chance to learn the Rebbe’s teachings themselves. It is a guided tour through complex and nuanced Torah study.”
“I am a judge born, raised and proud of being a Jew,” said U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. “The demand for justice, peace and for enlightenment runs through the entirety of Jewish history and Jewish tradition.”
