The goal of Israel’s ongoing military operation should be to “wipe the Iranian regime off the map,” Likud lawmaker Amit Halevy told JNS on Sunday.
“It’s not just about the nuclear program or missiles; it’s about the regime with its extreme ideology,” he said. “I believe we’re on the right path, and I hope that other key players, such as the United States, will not only continue to support us but will also take action to help bring peace to our world.”
Halevy also expressed hope regarding the Iranian opposition, urging ordinary citizens to take responsibility for bringing down the regime. “Together, both from within Iran and outside it, we need to do what the world requires and fulfill our generation’s mission,” he said.
“Eighty years ago, it was the Nazi regime,” he stated. “Today, it’s the Iranian regime. We must take responsibility for our generation and for future generations. The free nations of the world must stand together and work shoulder to shoulder to complete this mission.”

Pnina Tamano, of the opposition National Unity Party, told JNS on Sunday that she fully supports the decision to launch the attack.
“The people of Israel stand united during this period,” she said.
She stressed that Israel cannot afford to accept the ongoing threat from the Iranian regime. “For decades, Iran has spared no effort to harm Israel, from attempts at subversion and advancing toward a nuclear weapon that endangers the entire world, to its investments in expanding the operations of terrorist organizations throughout the Middle East and beyond. This has been accompanied by a year and a half of escalating aggression against Israel,” said Tamano.
“This is a preventive war that the people of Israel have embarked on—a necessity and a duty imposed upon us at this moment for the sake of future generations,” she continued.
Tamano also underscored the global nature of the Iranian threat, noting that the regime in Tehran is a danger not just to Israel, but to the entire world. “The cooperation and support of the American administration and President Donald Trump are crucial for us. Every country that cares about world peace and understands the need to combat terrorism should join the front alongside Israel,” she said.
Likud lawmaker Moshe Passal told JNS on Sunday that Israel had no choice but to strike at the heart of a regime whose leader has repeatedly vowed to eliminate the Jewish state.
“They have said they will destroy Israel and are building weapons to do so. If it had been possible to kill Hitler and subdue Germany before the war, millions of deaths would have been spared. Israel is currently eliminating the Hitler of this era. And the world should stand by it,” said Passal.
He cautioned against prematurely ending the conflict, as Washington continues to seek negotiations with Iran.
“In my opinion, any agreement with the Iranians is an agreement they will not honor. They are experts at deception,” said Passal. “We must not compromise with them, just as agreements with Hitler did not work. We must destroy the nuclear facilities and try to overthrow the regime and free the Iranian people from its clutches,” he added.

‘Setting nuclear clock back by years’
Likud lawmaker Ariel Kallner expressed gratitude to Israel’s security forces, who under the “Churchill-like leadership of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu executed the opening phases of ‘Operation Rising Lion’ with the precision and courage of the Maccabees.”
In just 48 hours, Kallner told JNS on Sunday, “the IDF shattered key enrichment facilities, eliminated senior nuclear scientists and crippled ballistic-missile production lines, setting Iran’s nuclear clock back by years.”
Iran, he continued, “will never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon. We will continue striking every centrifuge hall, storage depot and launch platform that feeds the ayatollahs’ war machine until their ability to threaten Israel or our allies is dismantled.”
“Morale is high, the plan is working, and the lion of Israel is wide awake,” he added.
Likud lawmaker Tally Gotliv told JNS on Sunday that “small but mighty” Israel has once again demonstrated its strength and capabilities, effectively transforming the Middle East by significantly weakening Iran.
“By damaging Iran’s launch capability and air-defense systems, we are strengthening our security at this critical time. Our role as a beacon of light in the Middle East will not be underestimated,” said Gotliv.
“It is clear to everyone that this operation was carried out by Israel alone, though with the knowledge of the United States,” she continued. “I am proud to be part of this moment, despite the price we may pay due to Iran’s retaliatory actions, which underscore how dangerous the situation is and the potential harm to Israel and its people.”
Likud lawmaker Avichai Boaron emphasized to JNS on Sunday that the war against Iran is critical to the survival of the Jewish state, as the mullahs were actively working to acquire the means to actualize their stated goal of destroying the country.
“The world must understand that if a nuclear bomb were to strike Israel, there would be no second chance. Our intelligence services uncovered that Iran was in the final stages of obtaining a nuclear weapon, and Israel could not stand idly by,” said Boaron.
He stressed the need for global action against Iran’s influence in the region, noting that the Islamic Republic’s proxies span from Lebanon to Syria to Yemen and Hamas in Gaza. “To change this, the Western world must seize this moment and work to replace the Iranian regime with a democratic one, leading Iran in a new direction,” said Boaron.
Such a transformation would sow the seeds for broader peace in the region, he continued.
“Israel could achieve peace with Saudi Arabia in a matter of months, and even establish peace agreements with the Gulf states, and eventually with Iran, after the current regime is replaced. This is a historic opportunity, but first we must eliminate Iran’s nuclear and ballistic-missile programs to ensure the safety of Israel and its citizens,” Boaron concluded.
