Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz accuses E.U. foreign affairs chief Josep Borrell of leading an “antisemitic, hate-filled campaign against Israel.”
The E.U.'s foreign policy chief has been a harsh critic of the Jewish state during his term in Brussels, which concludes next month.
“We must deal with the threat just as we deal with the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza,” said Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
“Iran has the explicit aim of destroying Israel,” Katz wrote on X.
“Whoever acts against us, we will act against it. We will continue to maintain the status and national honor of the State of Israel,” said Foreign Minister Israel Katz.
A diplomatic official described the trip as “an attempt to prevent all-out war in the Middle East.”
Foreign Minister Katz acted after Oslo’s hostile steps post-Oct. 7.
Withdrawal would “lead to the creation of an Iranian outpost,” the foreign minister said.
Iran will make its case and attempt to gather diplomatic support in an emergency meeting with foreign ministers from the OIC in Saudi Arabia.
