Gallant in Gaza: We must eliminate those who attack Israel

The IDF’s actions against Hamas are a warning to Hezbollah terror chief Hassan Nasrallah in Lebanon, said Minister-without-Portfolio Benny Gantz.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and Minister-without-Portfolio Benny Gantz on Saturday held a situation assessment in Beit Hanun in the northern Gaza Strip.

“Every building from where shootings or launches are conducted, and every source of terrorism, must be taken down so that the residents of Sderot [in Israel’s south] may return home in peace, knowing that threatening infrastructure no longer stands,” Gallant told IDF forces.

“What you are doing here is shown in all of Gaza—I am sure that [Hamas chief Yahya] Sinwar is sitting in his bunker, watching TV—so he sees what Beit Hanun and Shujaia look like. This is also true for the Hamas commanders who are fighting our troops in Khan Younis.... These images reverberate in the entire region,” continued the defense minister.

“There should be a price for those who attack the State of Israel and those who commit the brutal murder of civilians, women and children—we must eliminate them. This reflects in the entire region because everyone can use ‘Google Maps’ and imagine what may happen in Beirut,” added Gallant.

Gantz thanked the IDF soldiers on behalf of the country, calling the military campaign to destroy Hamas “one of the most important that the State of Israel has ever conducted.

“It serves both the residents of the south and radiates to other arenas. I am sure that [Hezbollah terror chief Hassan] Nasrallah is looking at what is happening here and he does not want it to happen in [Lebanon].”

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi also held an assessment in Gaza on Saturday, saying from the southern Hamas stronghold of Khan Yunis: “Impressive offensive, we still have a lot of work to do.”

“He wants to flex his authority as mayor of New York City, so he brings the desk outside to show he should be taken seriously,” Beverly Hallberg, president of District Media Group, told JNS.
