Israel Defense Forces soldiers eliminated a female Palestinian terrorist armed with a knife outside the city of Ariel in central Samaria on Tuesday, the Hatzalah Judea and Samaria rescue group said.

No Israelis were wounded in the attempted attack at the Giti Avishar Junction on Route 5, also known as the Trans-Samaria Highway.

According to Israel Hayom, the terrorist had thrown rocks at Jewish drivers, as well as at security forces, leading the soldiers to open fire in self-defense. She pulled out the knife and was subsequently shot dead.

The military confirmed in a statement that the terrorist “threw stones and attempted to stab IDF soldiers,” after which she was “neutralized.”

On Monday, Israeli soldiers detained three Palestinian rock-throwers amid an uptick in stoning attacks throughout Judea and Samaria.

Palestinian terrorists targeted Jews in Judea and Samaria at least 6,343 times in 2024, according to figures published by Rescuers Without Borders (Hatzalah Judea and Samaria) on Feb. 17.

Twenty-seven Israelis were murdered in Judea and Samaria in 2024, and more than 300 others were wounded, the group said in its annual report.
