The four progressive members of the Portland City Council have yet to apologize to Rockne Roll, editor of the “Jewish Review.”
The U.S. Justice Department said these acts of vandalism were due to “growing animosity towards Israel” since Oct. 7, 2023.
It is “actively looking for people across the political spectrum, because that’s how you do journalism education,” the program director told JNS.
While IHRA legislation sits in the Pennsylvania House, legal consequences languish when letters and calls for dialogue go unheeded.
It said the entity will take “local action,” and focus on education and the “broader community.”
“Our goal is to help organizations focus on what they do best—serving our community,” the federation’s senior director of strategic planning said.
“In many cases, our concerns have been dismissed,” Matthew Friedman, of the ADL, stated about raising the alarm on “the type of violent rhetoric we saw espoused during the recent attacks.”
Some 9,206 gifts came from 12,275 donors, according to Federation.
“This direct access to intelligence and best practices is crucial given the sharp rise in threats,” Ezra Weinberger, the group’s communications and marketing manager, told JNS.
The event will feature “amazing recipes of the area’s home cooks,” Ann Treadwell, of the local Federation, told JNS. “This is the first event of its kind.”
“The women next to me were Catholics. Another from a Baptist church,” an attendee told JNS.
The event took place at the University of California, Irvine, which also served as co-sponsor.
