Jewish, pro-Israel groups denounce Iranian attack

"Our communities are in complete solidarity with the people of Israel and the IDF, as they work to defend themselves from these attacks, and we pray for their safety," stated the Jewish Federations of North America.

As more than 180 Iranian ballistic missiles rained down on Israel on Tuesday, forcing every Israeli civilian into bomb shelters, Jewish and pro-Israel organizations denounced the Islamic Republic for the attack and stated that they stand with the Jewish state.

The Jewish Federations of North America stated that “from Hamas to Hezbollah to the Houthis, Iran has been the power supporting Israel’s terrorist enemies and providing them with the weapons and know-how to attack Israel’s civilians.”

“Our communities are in complete solidarity with the people of Israel and the IDF, as they work to defend themselves from these attacks, and we pray for their safety,” Federations said.

Ted Deutch, CEO of the American Jewish Committee, stated that the AJC “stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Israel and is praying for their safety as we condemn this latest act of aggression from the Iranian regime, which openly calls for the annihilation of Israel and the Jewish people.”

“Iran, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terror, is single-handedly responsible for undermining regional stability in the Middle East, all while continuing its pursuit of nuclear weapons in violation of international law and the JCPOA,” he added. “Today’s attack and Iran’s actions over the last year should leave no doubt in the international community that stopping Iran’s aggression requires immediate action.”

The World Jewish Congress condemned Iran’s attack “in the strongest terms.”

“This reckless act, which follows a deadly shooting in Tel Aviv-Yafo, is not merely an assault on Israel, but an attack on global peace and stability,” the WJC stated. “Over the past year, Iran’s proxies—Hamas, Hezbollah and other terrorist factions—have unleashed chaos across the region, leaving behind devastation and civilian suffering.”

“The international community can no longer turn a blind eye to the grave threat Iran and these extremists pose,” the World Jewish Congress added. “We call on all nations to recognize Iran’s true intentions and take decisive action to stop this aggression. Israel is fighting not just for its survival, but for the security of the entire free world.”

The Israeli-American Council stated that Iran had attacked Israelis directly for the second time in six months.

“The rogue regime commenced this latest outrage just before the Jewish High Holiday of Rosh Hashanah, firing nearly 200 ballistic missiles at the Jewish State,” the IAC said. “Israel has an inalienable right to eliminate the genocidal threats facing the Jewish people.”

“The time has come to employ American power decisively. For too many years, the Iranian regime has brought death and suffering to U.S. military personnel serving in the region, to our allies and to the Iranian people,” the council added. “The havoc it wreaks in the region and beyond will dramatically increase should the mullahs complete their race to obtain a nuclear weapons capability. We must act now, before it is too late.”

Mark Mellman, president and CEO of the Democratic Majority for Israel, stated that “Iran’s indiscriminate ballistic-missile attack represents a dramatic escalation of the multifront war Iran is waging against Israel.”

“Simultaneously, one of the other fronts exploded with a terrorist attack in Tel Aviv that killed at least eight,” Mellman said. “Every person of good conscience should join us in condemning Iran for these attacks. Iran is the central player in this multi-front war designed to carry out its long-held commitment to eradicating Israel.”

He added that he is “grateful to the Biden-Harris administration for ordering the U.S. military to help defend Israel, once again.”

“That has only happened twice in history, both times under the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris,” he said. “They sent a clear signal to Israel’s enemies that America has Israel’s back.”

Morton Klein, national president of the Zionist Organization of America, wrote that U.S. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris must, due to the Iranian attack, “immediately reinstate all sanctions against Iran and publicly support Israel responding in any way they deem appropriate.”

“Israel should now destroy Iran’s oil industry and destroy its nukes facility,” Klein wrote.

Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement, stated that Iran attacked Israel “not to defend Palestinians, who they don’t actually care for, nor to avenge the brutal terrorist Hassan Nasrallah, but because it is an antisemitic genocidal cabal that doesn’t reflect the beliefs of the people it brutally rules.”

“Israel will outlive the mullahs. What should come of this attack is a wave from the West of support for strongly confronting the Iranian regime, the largest state sponsor of terrorism, and support for Israel in eliminating the terrorist threats and responding to the Iranian attacks in the time and scale it feels necessary,” Roytman said.

Pastor John Hagee, founder and chairman of Christians United for Israel, said the Middle East has reached a “tipping point.”

“Israel spent years warning the world against appeasing Iran in the hopes today would never come, but the world did not listen,” he stated. “Israel will now decide how to address Iran’s most recent attack on the Jewish homeland.”

No matter what comes next, “10 million members of Christians United for Israel will be standing steadfast with nearly 10 million Israelis,” he said.
