The ongoing protests in the United States over the May 25 killing of George Floyd by a police officer in Minneapolis are an “eruption of truths that have always been hidden,” according to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In an address that aired on Iran’s Channel 1 on June 3, Khamenei said that just as officer Derek Chauvin knelt on Floyd’s neck while Floyd lay face down in the street, handcuffed, so had America done to Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and the entire world.
This, said Khamenei, was America’s nature.
