The Conservative seminary Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies—part of American Jewish University—announced that it will relocate 10 miles southeast to the heavily Jewish Los Angeles neighborhood Pico-Robertson in 2024.

The move marks a “new chapter” for the school, “providing our students with innovative opportunities to flourish in the heart of Jewish life in Los Angeles,” stated university president Jeffrey Herbst.

Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson, the school dean, explained that the move will “facilitate a more rich and dynamic learning environment, which supports our mission to provide our students with strong academic and professional training, personal spiritual enrichment and a sense of community.”

The new location will be within walking distance of kosher restaurants, synagogues and Jewish institutions. The present location is near the Skirball Cultural Center and the Reform congregation Stephen Wise Temple.
