Colel Chabad

Established in 1788 by Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi, founder of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, Colel Chabad is the oldest continuously operating social-services and tzedakah network in Israel.
“We are not going back to our baseline; we are ramping up our capacity to help people in need,” said Rabbi Zalman Duchman, development director of Colel Chabad.
“We hope and pray that these scholarships will help them continue on a path of excellence and allow them to be sources of pride to their families,” said Rabbi Sholom Duchman.
“We’re finding people who are without their glasses or their walkers or all types of medicine and basic items,” says Amir Shuan of the Hatzinor Fund.
“I realize that we have to keep pushing forward in our life’s journey to find and embrace all the good,” said the mother of one of the boys.
“These trying times call for us to increase our efforts and recommit ourselves to helping those less fortunate than us,” said Michael Flacks.
It had sustained direct damage to the building during the ongoing war with Hamas in the adjacent Gaza Strip.
Many of the families have lost homes, cars and other property, and have been relocated to hotels or housing in other parts of the country.
