Palestinian terrorists in the Gaza Strip fired two rockets into southern Israel on Saturday morning, the Israeli military said.

The projectiles hit in open areas, setting off air-raid sirens in several Israeli communities near the border.

No injuries or damage were reported.

Two more rockets were fired from Gaza on Saturday evening, setting off air-raid sirens in Kibbutz Nir Oz, according to the IDF, which added that the projectiles hit an open area and that no injuries were reported.

On Tuesday, a Palestinian terror rocket fired from the Strip triggered sirens at Zikim Beach along the border. No injuries were reported.

The same day, Israel Defense Forces officials reportedly told heads of local authorities in the “Gaza Envelope,” the area within seven km. (4.35 miles) of the Strip, that there are no security hurdles preventing the return of all residents to their homes.

As of February, some 85% of the Gaza Envelope’s 64,000 residents, who were almost all evacuated following the Hamas-led Oct. 7, 2023, massacre, were back home, with 11,000 still living in temporary, state-funded accommodations elsewhere.

The developments come amid continued IDF ground operations across the Strip as part of “Gideon’s Chariots,” a campaign with the stated goal of dismantling Hamas’s remaining military capabilities, taking control of key areas in Gaza, and securing the release of the remaining 53 hostages.

“Let me be clear,” Rep. Grace Meng said at a rally in New York City. “Justifying hate, vandalism or violence by pointing to the actions of a foreign government is scapegoating, and it is wrong.”
A deadline in the law has yet to pass, but Rabbi Josh Joseph, of the Orthodox Union, told JNS that “we expect the mayor and the NYPD to work in close coordination with the community to ensure that the intent of this legislation is fully upheld.”
Online critics accused the bestselling author, who is a supporter of the BDS movement, of “normalizing” Israelis over a brief reference in her book, Taipei Story.
The president’s call for a national Shabbat “celebrates our religion and it refocuses on our job to become a light unto the nations,” Rabbi Steven Burg of Aish told JNS.
Moments after Varsha Gandikota-Nellutla, of the Hague Group, made the admission, Andrew Gilmour, a former senior U.N. official, warned her that “there are 108 people on this call, so just assume it’s not confidential.”
Charlotte Head, 30, Samuel Corner, 23, Leona Kamio, 30, and Fatema Rajwani, 21, destroyed property and clashed with security guards at the Israeli defense firm’s facility near Bristol, England.
