AFIPO announces United States tour of world-renowned Israeli pianist Tom Borrow

The 22-year-old piano prodigy embarks on his first U.S. tour in October and will hold performances in Los Angeles, Orange County, New York and Miami.

American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic (AFIPO) announces the U.S. tour of renowned Israeli pianist Tom Borrow. The tour will feature four performances on the East and West coasts with two community events in Orange County, Calif., and in Miami; and two galas in Los Angeles and New York.

Borrow first received international recognition when he was called upon to replace Khatia Buniatishvili in a 12-concert series with the Israel Philharmonic. With only 36 hours’ notice, Borrow’s performance garnered him critical acclaim and resulted in him being reinvited for a second, sold-out concert series with the Israel Philharmonic. His relationship with the Philharmonic was further solidified when he performed at the Philharmonic’s gala concerts in London and Mexico City.

Since then, Borrow who has won every piano competition in Israel, has performed with major orchestras throughout the world. He recently received the prestigious title of BBC New Generation Artist and the Terence Judd-Hallé Orchestra Award and returns to the United States after making his highly praised national debut with the Cleveland Orchestra in 2021, and subsequently performing with the Baltimore Symphony and Atlanta Symphony.

“Tom represents the bright future of the arts, and his tour will further introduce one of Israel’s finest musicians to American audiences,” said CEO of American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic Jennifer Ritvo Hughes. “I am looking forward to experiencing his incredible talent firsthand. Audiences are in for a real treat.”

Borrow will perform variations of Chopin’s Ètudes and Rachmaninoff’s Preludes throughout the tour. The Los Angeles Gala will be emceed by West Wing actor Joshua Malina and honor former CEO Danielle Ames Spivak. The New York Gala will be emceed by award-winning comedian Alex Edelman and honor Tricia and Jason Pantzer and Tanya Zuckerbrot. For more information about the tour, visit www.afipo.org.
