Dozens of solo travelers seeking an insider’s look at the land and people of Israel, and who crave authentic connection, meaningful experiences and purpose-driven travel, will set off on Jewish National Fund-USA’s Solo Travelers Volunteer Mission to Israel, taking place from Dec. 21 to 28.

Tailored for young professionals in their 30s and 40s, this travel opportunity combines breathtaking views, delicious food, tours of iconic sites like Masada, the Dead Sea, the Old City of Jerusalem and the Machane Yehuda Market, with hands-on volunteer work in southern and northern Israeli communities affected by the ongoing war. Participants will also meet with Israelis, Israel Defense Forces soldiers and Oct. 7 survivors who will share personal experiences.

Trip organizers say the most intriguing part of this mission is that participants will get a “backstage pass” to Israel, with visits to Israel’s hidden gems and experiences not provided by other group tours, ultimately making participants feel like they’re locals.

“This experience builds connections to the land, and to one another, that last a lifetime,” said Jewish National Fund-USA’s JNFuture campaign executive for the Midwest, Melissa Goldberg. “For many, traveling solo can feel daunting. But this mission turns it into a gift, a chance to meet, explore and grow alongside others who share a similar passion for Israel and Jewish life.”

In addition to volunteer work, including picking vegetables and other crops on Israeli farms, and planting, cleaning, painting and hands-on work to help rebuild impacted communities, the mission includes immersive cultural experiences and a memorable Shabbat in the heart of Jerusalem. Travelers will leave with cherished memories, newfound friendships and the knowledge that they played a role in rebuilding the land of Israel.

“Join us on the solo adventure of a lifetime,” said Alissa Hollander, Jewish National Fund-USA’s JNFuture campaign executive in Phoenix. “Play a role in work that will improve the lives of Israelis for generations to come.”

For 125 years, Jewish National Fund-USA has helped strengthen the land and people of Israel by investing in the communities, infrastructure, and leadership that shape the country’s future. Our work is focused on making Israel’s North and South places where families can build full, vibrant lives with access to medical care, emergency response, water solutions, parks, playgrounds, jobs, and economic opportunity. Working with our donors and partners, we support underpopulated communities, help attract new residents, improve quality of life, and create the conditions for long-term growth. Our work reaches beyond projects on the ground. Through education, travel, and leadership opportunities, we connect Americans of all ages to Israel in meaningful and lasting ways. That vision continues with the World Zionist Village in Be’er Sheva, a global center that will bring people together to live, learn, lead, and strengthen the next generation of Zionist leadership.
