Jewish National Fund-USA’s New Jersey leadership has welcomed Rachel Kahn as the organization’s new director of Northern New Jersey and Rockland County, New York.
An experienced professional in the Jewish nonprofit world, Kahn previously served in development roles with American Friends of Leket Israel and the Oheb Shalom Congregation in South Orange, N.J. She also held several roles in the real estate sector.
“What Jewish National Fund-USA has accomplished is unparalleled in the Jewish philanthropic world,” exclaimed Kahn. “I feel honored to work alongside such talented and inspiring colleagues and lay leaders who have devoted their lives to ensuring our vision comes to life in the Negev and Galilee.”
Kahn believes that there has never been a more important time for the community to support the Jewish homeland and invest in developing the country’s north and south. “As we find ourselves living in times of elevated Jew-hatred and anti-Zionism, it is crucial for our community to show support and advocate for the land and people of Israel. We must be proud and lead by example,” she explained.
Recently, Jewish National Fund-USA achieved the fundraising target of its “One Billion Dollar Roadmap for the Next Decade” initiative—10 months ahead of schedule—with the organization continuing to work towards its strategic vision of attracting 800,000 new residents to the Negev and Galilee.
With plans underway to hold the first-ever Global Conference for Israel—the largest event for Israel supporters—in Denver at the end of November, Kahn plans to bring a sizeable contingent from New Jersey.
“Every one of us has a responsibility to be a part of the conversation shaping our homeland’s future,” she said. “We read about Theodor Herzl, David Ben-Gurion and Golda Meir in our history books, yet we can all play an equally prominent role in shaping our Zionist movement and Israel. If you want to step out from the sidelines and lead, you can’t miss our Global Conference.”
